Alex Turpitt - Regional Manager, UK & Europe
Having gained a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University, Alex Turpitt started his career at BMT Fluid Mechanics in 2008 as a wind tunnel and instrumentation technician.
Alex continued his working career moving into the Company's Wind Environment and Stadia group. Here he gained significant experience in wind environment studies for UK planning applications and worked on several high profile masterplan developments within London. He also gained technical experience in the wind effects of large roof span structures including wind loading and cladding pressures.
As a project manager, Alex widened his technical capabilities and gained experience in Tall Building and Bridge Aerodynamics. He has acted as technical leader and project manager on many notable projects including The European Extremely Large Telescope, The Wembley Masterplan, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and several projects related to the London 2012 Olympic Games and subsequent legacy development. Alex has also completed wind engineering studies for several stadia under development for the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.
In 2015, Alex became the Company's Regional Manager for UK & Europe. He aims to use his experience to providing specialist advice to various engineering teams and is ultimately responsible for supervision and coordination of BMT’s activities in the region.
