Operational / Logistical Modelling Software
BMT Fluid Mechanics uses a number of software products in support of its design and operational activities for the offshore oil and gas industry. The software is also available from BMT under licence. The following operational simulation software products facilitate the planning of offshore operations and model the behaviour of fixed and floating systems as they interact with the ocean environment.
DEPLOY
A software tool to assist the planning of the installation of deep water moorings.
SLOOP - oil and gas field simulation
Comparison and optimisation of field development concepts, product export strategies and development drilling scenarios.
PSV - Cargo Arrangement Planning System (PSV-CAPS)
Functionally similar to DECKPLAN, but re-designed and rewritten for Windows XP. Planning of the deck cargo loading process for offshore Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs). Ensures that dangerous goods segregation (IMDG) requirements are complied with, and that optimum use is made of deck space.
Terminal
Simulation of transportation of cargoes by sea. Ideal for the analysis and optimisation of bulk cargo transportation, especially those influenced by weather (e.g. oil transportation by shuttle tanker from offshore field to shore refinery). Simulation of shipping and cargo handling in bulk terminals.
